How to Verify a Research Peptide COA
A Certificate of Analysis is only evidence if it describes the exact vial in front of you. This page explains the checks Amino Fuel Labs applies to its own documentation and the same checks any researcher can apply to a certificate from any supplier.
Start with the lot number
The lot printed on the vial label must appear on the certificate. A document issued for a different lot describes different material, however similar the product name looks. If the two do not match, treat the certificate as unrelated paperwork rather than evidence, and request the correct document before the material enters a protocol.
Check the analytical method behind each number
Purity should be attributed to a stated method — normally reversed-phase HPLC, reported as the target peak against total peak area for that lot. Identity should be attributed to mass spectrometry, showing a measured mass consistent with the expected mass of the declared sequence. A percentage with no named method is a claim, not a measurement.
Read the dates, not just the values
Every certificate carries an analysis date. An old certificate paired with newly supplied material tells you nothing about the current vial. Record the analysis date alongside your receipt date so the age of the documentation is visible later in the study record.
Confirm what the document does not cover
HPLC purity does not confirm identity on its own, and mass spectrometry does not quantify purity. Neither method addresses sterility, endotoxin content or biological activity. Amino Fuel Labs documents HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity and makes no sterility, endotoxin, ISO or cGMP claim.

What must match between a COA and a vial?
The lot number. If the lot on the certificate differs from the lot on the label, the document does not describe that vial.
What does HPLC purity actually report?
The target peak as a percentage of total peak area for the tested lot — a lot-specific value, not a permanent product attribute.
Does a COA prove sterility?
No. We document purity and identity only, and make no sterility or endotoxin claim.
What if my lot has no certificate?
Contact us with the lot number and we will supply the matching document. We never substitute a certificate from another lot.
