Melanotan-2 10mg Research Peptide

Melanotan-2 is a cyclic 7-amino-acid synthetic analog of α-MSH developed at the University of Arizona. Unlike Melanotan-1 it binds all four melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, MC5R), producing pigmentation plus libido and appetite effects.

Research use

For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Mechanism of action

MT-2's pan-melanocortin activity drives melanogenesis via MC1R, sexual arousal via MC4R (the same pathway later isolated as PT-141), and adipocyte modulation via MC5R. Its non-selectivity is why PT-141 was later developed as a libido-specific spinoff.

Research applications

Frequently asked questions

How is Melanotan-2 different from PT-141?

PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a derivative of Melanotan-2 modified to act primarily on MC4R for sexual arousal research, with much weaker MC1R/pigmentation activity. MT-2 hits all four melanocortin receptors.

What are common research dosing protocols?

Published protocols vary widely. Refer to original melanocortin literature for full dose-response data — this product is sold strictly for in-vitro research, not human use.

Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis?

Yes. ≥99.4% HPLC purity, mass-spec confirmation, endotoxin testing on every batch.
