Mechanism of action
Semax modulates BDNF and NGF expression in the hippocampus, increases dopamine and serotonin turnover, and inhibits enkephalin degradation. It also shows neuroprotective effects via attenuation of glutamate excitotoxicity and oxidative stress in ischemic models.
