Two listings for the same compound can differ by half without either being dishonest. Vial price is not a unit of measurement. To compare research peptide pricing you have to normalise it, and the normalisation involves three separate quantities that listings often blur together.

Step One: Normalise to Cost Per Milligram

Take the vial price and divide by the labelled milligram content. A $150 vial of 10 mg material is $15.00 per milligram. A $300 vial of 30 mg is $10.00 per milligram. Step Two: Understand What the Milligrams Describe

Three distinct quantities hide behind a single number on a label:

The practical rule: compare like with like. Two suppliers reporting purity by the same method, on the specific lot being sold, are comparable. A supplier reporting nothing is not in the comparison at all.

Step Three: Price the Documentation

Documentation is part of what you are buying, because without it the material is unquantified. A useful certificate is lot-matched — the number on the paper matches the number on the vial — and reports purity by reversed-phase HPLC with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry.

A Worked Comparison

Consider two hypothetical listings for the same compound:

  • Listing A: $120 for 10 mg, purity claimed on the product page, no lot-specific certificate.
  • Listing B: $150 for 10 mg, purity reported on a lot-matched third-party certificate with mass-spectrometry identity.

Listing A is $12.00 per milligram of claimed material. Listing B is $15.00 per milligram of documented material. Those are not the same unit, and the 25% premium is the cost of the denominator being known. Whether that trade is worth making is a judgement each lab makes for itself — but it should be made knowingly.

What Not to Factor In

Rank ordering by shipping speed, packaging quality, or support responsiveness is reasonable. Rank ordering by review counts, star ratings, or claims about being the largest or the best is not: none of those are measurable properties of the material in the vial.
